ComEd Greenway Description

The ComEd Greenway is an asphalt multiuse pathway running north-south through the village of Bollingbrook. The trail's name is an abbreviation of Commonwealth Edison, the name of the electric utility company whose grassy right-of-way the trail sits in. The greenway is a spine connecting residents of the surrounding neighborhoods to other area trails and recreation facilities. At its southern end, it begins by looping around the Remington Lake Sports Complex, before traveling north into Community Park which houses the high school football stadium as well as baseball diamonds and tennis courts. Just north of this, at Orchard Road, the ComEd Greenway meets the Lily Cache Greenway, which runs east-west along the creek of the same name.

Cross Lily Cache Lane, which is the next major roadway, and proceed north past Independence Elementary. St. Francis Park, which features a playground, is the next destination. Past the park, proceed with caution across the wide Boughton Road, and then follows the trail along Whitewater Drive and up to where it interesects with the 33+ mile DuPage River Trail

You can extend your ride by combining a ride or run along the ComEd Greenway with one along the Lily Cache or even DuPage River Trail.

ComEd Greenway Reviews

Perfect for walking or inline skates

I frequent this trail almost twice a month or more for inline skating because of the asphalt. A few bridges to cross but nothing to difficult. The trail crosses into Naperville where you go into a part of a forest preserve but then goes out into open fields. Beautiful all year round and always clean.
