Red Oak Trail Description

The Red Oak Trail is a concrete biking and walking trail that runs through a series of lightly-wooded fields around the edge of the local high school and cemetery in the small city of Red Oak, Iowa. Providing just over a mile's worth of paved trail, the Red Oak Trail is a great community recreation path, easily accessible from a number of local neighborhoods. The trail has an active friends group that hosts periodic events along the route, including an annual trick-or-treat walk around Halloween. Near the western end of the trail, you're just a short distance away from a number of local destinations, including the county fairgrounds and the local YMCA.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available near the start of the trail at Legion Park, next to the YMCA, at the intersection of North 1st Street and Cherry Street.
