Stanton Greenbelt Trail Description

A concrete pathway that encircles the small community of Stanton, Iowa, the Stanton Greenbelt Trail gives residents a convenient recreation trail right in their backyards. The trail forms a semicircle around the western side of town, following the course of the Little Tarkio Creek and a smaller tributary creek to the south. This pleasant, natural corridor along the creeks offers some sporadic shade from nearby trees and some nice views of the surrounding Iowa farmland - including views of the town's signature coffee cup-shaped water tower to the south. Providing access to local schools and parks, the Stanton Greenbelt Trail is a big asset for a little town.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at Anderson Park at the southeastern end of the trail, located off of Halland Avenue just north of the railroad tracks.
