Fred Meijer Flat River Valley Rail Trail

Great Trail

May, 2022 by jahemenway

May 2022, we started in Lowell at Trailhead (parked at Creekside Park) and rode to Belding. Trail starts with blacktop then changes to crushed asphalt. Trail is in excellent condition for hybrid bikes. Beautiful countryside. This is a must-do trail! We’ll do Belding to Greenville and back next time.

Falling Waters Trail

should have left it alone

May, 2022 by emdexpress

Root pops became more common as the years past by. So very recently they tried to fix them but made it worst, much worst. After 20 Years I am leaving this trail. Too many bumps for me. Sad!

Saginaw Valley Rail Trail

Fun Trail

May, 2022 by racing1on1

I have started at Stroebel Road and made it all the way into St. Charles, I have enjoy the wildlife, scenery, and the opportunity to utilize benches that are along the trail to rest. The trailer shelf is pretty maintained. Only minor blemishes. In recent years there are newer pathways that branch off the main trail that will go towards Thomas Township.

Bay-Zil Rail Trail

Great for scenery

May, 2022 by racing1on1

I love this trail is 7 miles long. The longer the better in my opinion. While prior reviews have mentioned some upkeep that needs to be done (not completed as of May 2022) they are minor blemishes in my opinion. This trail offers fantastic scenery, wildlife, and if you’re fortunate enough you’ll see the big ships on the river, along with plans taking off and landing at James Clements Airport. I hope there is progress made to link this trail to the Zilwaukee pathway.

Zilwaukee Pathway

Nice Starter Trail

Nice little trail for walking, biking and online skating. Clean with little elevation changes.

Southern Links Trailway

beautiful gem in the woods

May, 2022 by drbryanborn

Well kept smooth asphalt rail trail connecting three rural towns. Restaurants at either end, parking and porta potties .. and not at all crowded! Now if it could just be close to home… magnificent trail.

Leelanau Trail

What a great ride

West Bloomfield Trail

Nice ride

April, 2022 by clr7828

Started in Wixom riding East on Airline Trail (all asphalt) and continued on to West Bloomfield Trail. Packed gravel wasn't draining water well from overnight rain in several areas and gravel near St Marys school was very washboard. Hopefully they will grade trail before heavy summer riding starts. All in all it was a lovely ride. Saw deer, swans, and turkey along the ride.

Boyne Valley Trailway

Nice pathway

April, 2022 by raberry88

This is a nice pathway. Great for family rides. I would like to see a connecting route through town to the pathway toward Charlevoix. I hope this will be extended on the other side of Boyne Mountain.

Saginaw Valley Rail Trail

Rail Trail over the years

April, 2022 by davidgail

This trail is maintained by Saginaw County Parks Dept:
https://www.saginawcounty.com/departments/parks-recreation/parks-trails/saginaw-valley-rail-trail/
Very well taken care of!
The horse path hops on and off the main trail at road crossings and bridges.
Horse path is kept cleared sporadically - but I have never seen it used, nor evidence of use (road-apples).
A great trail for all ages!

Thomas Township Trail

Nice trail for biking or walking!

April, 2022 by davidgail

I have started this trail at Swan Creek High School parking (when school is out), at Shields Road by the Township Police Dept, and also from the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail.
All paved, wide, well-maintained, easy going, nice variety of scenery along the way.
Turning onto this from Saginaw Valley Rail Trail is a nice addition to that experience.
And a 1-mile ride down Ohern Road gets you to Roberts Community Park, another pleasant location.
Lots of open riding with only a little shade, can get hot in the summer sun.
You may get a chance to see a snapping turtle along the ditch in Kluck Nursery property.
Crossing M-46 at Meijer's in Shields can be a little nerve-wracking!

Metro Parkway Trail

Terrible trail

April, 2022 by kahinton22

This trail is horrible. Even on a mountain bike you’ll be jostled about the whole way. Friends of mine have lost bike lights from hitting the bumps. It’s unclear to me who maintains this trail but they should be ashamed of themselves. One bad lawsuit from a 80-year old lady who breaks a hip and maybe they’ll finally redo the whole thing.
