Sheridan Pathway Trails

For exercise AND eats

April, 2022 by evadu

We usually begin at the S (college trailhead) heading NW for a mile, then along Brundage Ln (W-only 'street riding' you must do) to the South Park, through the parks, under the major streets, to Marshall Park, through one of several neighborhood streets. Yes, the trail has gaps through historic downtown Sheridan area for coffee, lunch or a local brew; but clear signage leads to & through Kendrick Park and North under the bridges & along the river to Thorne-Rider Park and beyond without more 'street' riding. Beautiful!! Whether for aggressive exercise, or leisurely day-trip to town for brew & concert at the park .. enjoy the 'road less traveled' through Sheridan. Biking - the only way to 'really see' an area. Reduced to 4* for 'gaps' in the map in downtown. We've not taken the spurs off the main trail.

Platte River Trail (WY)

Worth the 1,000 Mile Drive!

October, 2021 by thejake91739

In late September of 2021, my wife and I traveled from Southern California to Casper in order to ride this trail in our quest to bicycle in all fifty states. It was most certainly worth the one thousand mile drive!
We rode every square foot of the trail and its spurs, and enjoyed the changes and contrasts in the various portions.
We experienced the trail on a Saturday morn, so it was being used to a great extent by walkers, joggers, bikers, families, dog walkers, and even volunteers clearing brush.
So much made this ride enjoyable for us: the perfect fall weather and colors, friendly trail users, beautiful river views, and clever art installations.
The only thing not five star worthy is the condition of the root damaged asphalt in a few sections, but for the most part the path is well maintained and smooth riding.
There are a couple of short climbs, especially one toward the north end, but it's worth it for the spectacular view of the river with which it rewards you!
For those of you in Casper, you know what a gem you have in the Platte River Trail. For those of you passing through or looking for a bike riding destination in Wyoming, go for it!

Laramie River Greenbelt Trail

nice trail

August, 2021 by rongoade

It traverses along the river with lots of trees and it’s well maintained. The only reason for four stars is the rough joints. Pretty jarring at times

Sheridan Pathway Trails

well done

August, 2021 by debimiller91

Sheridan has done a nice job providing a nice trail and signage to go along with it. There are gaps in the trail but good signage to make the ride enjoyable. The goose creek is pretty and we enjoyed this ride.

Highway 16 Bike Path

old

July, 2021 by debimiller91

Not well maintained but serves the purpose. Connects to the creek trail which is packed gravel

Casper Rail Trail

construction!

June, 2021 by debimiller91

Terrible ride from Yellowstone. Soft sand and then you get blocked by construction. We went through town and was able to reconnect and went to the River trail and came by by the highway. 19 miles round trip. Not recommended in 2021.

South Link Greenway

It's Functional

May, 2021 by realstelecat

It's in the name: it's a link. It does indeed link. Doesn't go above and beyond, but it gets the job done, linking the Allison Draw Greenway with the Sun Valley/East Cheyenne Greenway. Goes through two intersections and the most forgotten "park" in town; it's not much for scenery.

South Cheyenne Greenway

It Exists

April, 2021 by realstelecat

It kinda goes all over and nowhere in particular at the same time. The middle section from Parsely to Walterscheid has some public exercise equipment which is nice if you're into that sort of thing, and seems to be used a lot by the folks in that area. The greenway also technically incorporates a pedestrian overpass over I-80, which is useful. But other than that, like a lot of Cheyenne greenways, it feels haphazard and half-done. It doesn't lead much of anywhere, much of it feels like a glorified sidewalk, and it doesn't connect well into a unified greenway system.

Lions Park Greenway

really pretty

April, 2021 by trpnk5twmw

There’s a garden and train to see, a lake with fishing and playground here. So far it’s my favorite trail in Cheyenne (moved here a few months ago).

Great American Rail-Trail

best trail ever

wonderful trip across America

Jackson Hole Community Pathway System

moose

October, 2020 by lcr1956

We rode from Wilson Rd past the Teton village. Absolutely beautiful. Not tough at all. We stopped to take a picture of a moose and noticed he was a wood cut out. They put them on that road to slow people down. Ingenious.

Dry Creek Greenway

Could use better marking

September, 2020 by kybridad

Got off track several times. Poorly marked in areas. Well maintained
