The Perth Amboy Harbor Walk offers scenic views of the Raritan Bay and Raritan River as it hugs the shoreline of the City of Perth Amboy, founded in 1683 and home to one of the nation's oldest ports. Trailside benches offer places to soak up the scenery and interpretive signs dot the route telling of the area's coastal heritage.
Along the way, the trail provides access to a veterans memorial, a fishing pier, and the Raritan Yacht Club. A short distance north of the club is Bayview Park and the municipal marina. About a block from the trail, you'll also find Kearny Cottage, a home (and now museum) dating back to 1781, and Caledonia/ Roessler Park, which offers a large playground.
The trail is part of a larger effort called the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail, designed to protect 300 miles of the state's shoreline.
Parking is available in public lots on Front Street, Second Street, and Sadowski Parkway. Restrooms are available in nearby Bayview Park (222 Water Street).
