Print Friendly MapThe scenic Soundview Trail runs along and through the Chambers Bay public golf course—site of the U.S. Open in 2015—within Pierce County's Chambers Creek Regional Park. The 2-mile trail links at both ends with the slightly shorter Grandview Trail, allowing for longer treks on a loop through the park.
While both trails are paved, the Soundview Trail is slightly more challenging due to steeper grades and several switchbacks needed to compensate. The ultimate payoff is worth it, with dramatic views of Puget Sound available along most of the trail's route. In the north, the trail also passes through a dense grove of trees, and in the south, the trail connects to several unpaved park trails.
Parking for the Soundview Trail can be found at the large lot south of the Chambers Bay Clubhouse off 62nd St. Ct. W. Additional parking is available to the west of that parking lot at Central Meadow.
It was an amazing day we walked down the switch back part, it's so nice that it's in the shade. There's even a restaurant for the golf course so you can stop and have a glass of wine!
This trail is a great option combined with Grandview trail. For less experienced riders, stay on Grandview, but if you want a little more of a challenge, the Soundview adds the challenge. The view on both is worth the ride!
