Prairie Farms Trail Description

With farmland to the east and the Des Plaines River Floodplain to the west, this picturesque trail is a relaxing adventure on two feet or on wheels. The crushed stone trail runs from Prairie Springs Park to Highway C/ Wilmot Road. If 1.8 miles isn't enough, visitors can continue on to the natural-surface Donald Hackbarth Trail by way of the shared-use pathway alongside Highway C, or add another 2.3 miles on the the paved trail that circles Lake Andrea in Prairie Springs Park.

Parking and Trail Access

Prairie Springs Park is a short drive from I-94 east on State Highway 165. Taking the entrance to the RexPlex, adventurers may park in Prairie Springs Park and enjoy the trails from sunrise to sunset. The trailhead is on the north side of Lake Andrea. Visitors can park at the nearby ball field parking lots.
