The Vale Park West Pathway is a multiuse trail in the Chicago suburb of Valparaiso. At 0.7 mile long, the trail passes through a mix of woodland and prairie, as well as over a creek on a 220-foot bridge. There are benches and a water fountain provided for the convenience of users. But more than simply a way for residents to get out into nature, the trail provides a significant bike-ped linkage between two neighborhood that are otherwise only connected by car: the Keystone Commons neighborhood in the east and the Beauty Creek subdivision in the west. This allows Beauty Creek residents to access the rest of Valparaiso's 18+ miles of trails. The trail has since become a cherished community gathering and events space.
At the east end (Keystone Commons) and the west end (Beauty Creek) there is only on-street parking.
This trail is paved and is fairly short for a bike trail. For the most part it is flat. This would be nice for a casual walk.
