The Green Meadows West Trail is a short multi-use path that provides an off-road connection for the Green Meadows neighborhood to the rest of the Johnston area's network of trails, enabling residents to be able to travel from their backyards all the way to Des Moines almost entirely on trails. The trail's northern end is the Northwest 62nd Avenue Trail, which runs east and west and links up with several other local trails on its way into the center of town. The path runs south through open fields behind suburban subdivisions, making its way down to Windsor Parkway and a small playground area, where the wide path comes to an end and turns to sidewalk. A block south and west, the Long Meadow Trail provides an additional mile-plus of off-road trail, leading to local elementary and middle schools.
Parking is available at the playground at the intersection of Windsor Parkway and Kings Row.
