Urbandale, Iowa is home to an extensive trails network; there are over 54 miles of trail spread across the city. The Meredith Drive Trail isn't necessarily the most scenic of the trails, it does form an important east-west component of the network, connecting residential, office, commercial and farm areas. The trail sits on the north side of Meredith Drive, between 156th Street and NW Urbandale Drive, where it meets another trail paralleling the latter road. It also intersects with the Walnut Trace Park Trail, which runs for more than a mile and half along Walnut Creek. That trail in turn connects to the Bob Layton Trail and further towards more great trails.
To get to the Meredith Drive Trail, you can park at the Walnut Creek Regional Park (located at 153rd and Horton Street) and then take the Walnut Trace Park Trail north to Meredith Drive.
