This shared use path is wide, smooth and flat and exists in disconnected segments along Jackrabbit Lane, between Litchfield and Buckeye. The trail begins just north of the the Valley Metro park and ride at 1901 Jackrabbit Trail. From there it heads north. At Thomas Road, there's a gate denoting the end of the paved surface so to continue, users must use a short unpaved section to get to the street edge and then cross the street. As one pushes north, the setting gradually transitions into more suburban though the houses may be set back significantly from the road.
Across from Sells Drive, the trail segment ends. It picks up on the east side of Jackrabbit Trail just beyond Campbell Drive to Camelback Road, where a sidewalk connects to the final leg of trail that ends at N. 195th Street.
The trail is open to a range of non-motorized uses including walking, jogging, biking, pushing strollers and walking dogs. There is no shade along the route so always consider sun protection and hydration as you venture outside.
Parking is available at the Metro Valley park and ride lot at 1901 Jackrabbit Trail.
