The Cologne Community Trail meanders from the south to the north of the city of Cologne linking residents to important civic and recreational destinations in their community. The asphalt recreational path begins in a residential area and connects to the community center and to city hall, before winding west then north in the landscaped verge of Village Parkway. The trail sits on the side of Lake Road (County Road 36) for 0.4 miles past Lions Park to Fritz baseball field. This part of the trail ends there, so users must bridge the gap between this and the Benton Lake segment on-street (via Playhouse Road) and then north on Paul Avenue where it restarts on the east perimeter of Benton Lake. Benches invite folks to pause and enjoy the scenery. The path rounds up to the north side of the lake and then continues past it, remaining adjacent to Benton Avenue until it reaches the northwest city limits.
Fun enough for a little trail linking some suburban communities. The section of the trail in Cologne itself is prettiest, with a nicr downtown and lake view.
