The Boulevard Trail (also known as the Happy Hollow Trail) is a 10-foot, 3-mile trail winding through the tree-lined, historic neighborhoods of midtown Omaha. The trail splits off from the Keystone Trail at 69th and Pacific Streets. It passes near the University of Nebraska, Omaha campus, before turning for a scenic, though somewhat hilly turn through Elmwood Park. Emerging from the park at US Route 6 (Dodge Street), trail users then cross the pedestrian bridge and into Memorial Park, continuing north to Underwood Avenue and then onto Happy Hollow Boulevard. There are plans to expand the trail further north.
Elmwood Park contains an 18-hole public golf course, swimming pool, lagoon, pavilion, a spring grotto, and great photography. Memorial Park has a war memorial and a vast rose garden along with a huge green space to soak up some rays or take in a concert.
Neighborhood parking or parking at Kohls at 72nd & Pacific is a good option for the south end. Parking is available at Elmwood (6700 Elmwood Park Road) or Memorial Park (6005 Underwood Avenue) midway, and neighborhood parking is available for the part north of Underwood.
