Omaha's Glenn Cunningham Lake offers six miles of walking and biking trails circling the reservoir. The wide, concrete trail provides an accessible path for easy recreation and connects them to nature and the amenities of the recently upgraded park. by the Amenities include the water stations, picnic shelters, marina, the upgraded campground, disc golf course, fishing docks and accessible kayak launches.
The reservoir was a US Army Corps of Engineers flood mitigation project from the 1970s. The park was renovated beginning in 2017 and reopened in 2021. Further improvements are planned for the park.
The Lake Cunningham Recreation Area is located at 8993-8965 State St, Omaha. There are three entrances:
