The Prairie Queen Recreation Area offers a beautiful outdoor space for residents of Papillion, which lies southeast of Omaha. Looping around the lake at its center is a paved pathway, which offers views of the lake, wetlands and the surrounding native grasses. In addition to enjoying the trail, the 335-acre park provides opportunities for picnicking, wildlife viewing, fishing and boating.
East of the Prairie Queen Trail, spur trails provide access to Prairie Queen Elementary School and Werner Park.
Parking lots and restrooms are available off Cornhusker Road, just east of S. 132nd St., and off Lincoln Road, just west of S. 126th St.
Getting back into cycle after having a baby and it was nice, smooth riding and not overly challenging.
Nice concrete trail all around the lake. About 4 miles easy grade. It’s nestled in a neighborhood. Can eat at Caniglias pizza afterwards!
